Սուրբ եկեղեցիս (իբրև) հիշատակ կառուցեցին շուշեցի Բաղդասար սարկավագ Աբարյանցն ու իր ընկեր Առուստամ Գափիյան-Խառատյանցը, 1918 թ., երբ ցորենի փութը 20 ռուբլի էր:
The church was built as a memorial by Deacon Baghdasar Abaryants from Shushi and his friend Arustam Gapiyan-Kharatyants in 1918, when a pood of wheat costed 20 rubles.
Արձանագրությունն ամփոփող սալաքարն ագուցված է եկեղեցու անմիջապես հարավային մուտքի վերնամասում և ուշադրություն է գրավում կիսամշակ և կոպտատաշ պատի շարվածքում: Գիրը ժամանակաշրջանի վիմագրերին բնորոշ փոքր երկաթագիր-բոլորգիր է:
The inscribed slab is embedded immediately above the southern entrance of the church, where it contrasts with the semi-worked, roughly hewn masonry. The lettering is a small-form erkat‘agir–bolorgir script characteristic of the period’s epigraphic tradition.
