In the Armenian year 673 (=1224), I, Ter Grigoris, abbot of this holy monastery, son of Vasak the Martyr, built this gavit in memory of my soul. Remember me in your prayers.
Վարպետ-գրիչն արձանագրությունը կազմել է համեմատաբար մշակված քարի մակերեսին և այն ագուցել կոպտատաշ շարվածքով շինության պատին: Քարի եզրամասերը վնասված են, սակայն գիրն ամբողջովին ընթեռնելի է: Ուշագրավ է ներքուստ շրջանաձև ելուստով Ա գլխագրերի գծագրությունը, որն ավելի վաղ շրջանին է բնորոշ:
The inscription was laid out by a master engraver on the comparatively finished surface of a stone block, which was subsequently set into the rough masonry of the building wall. Although the edges of the stone have sustained damage, the text remains entirely legible. Noteworthy is the graphic form of the capital Ա, with an inward circular projection, a palaeographic feature typical of earlier inscriptions.
