Armenian translation

Commentary

The area of the stone containing the inscription is marred by cavities resulting from gunfire. It is likely that the script was damaged during military operations in the 1990s, as a photograph from the 1960s shows it in significantly better condition. While some suggest that the final line is a later addition, the paleographic characteristics of the letterforms indicate that it is contemporary with the primary text. The David mentioned is, in fact, the engraver of the inscription.
